Some love stories feel destined long before the couple even meets—and Kinjal and Herit’s is one of them. What began with a chance swipe on Bumble quickly turned into a three-year-long, cross-state romance filled with late-night calls, spontaneous trips, and promises whispered across continents. Their journey, rooted in serendipity and sustained by intention, culminated in the most intimate celebration: a breathtaking wedding at Villa Balbiano on Lake Como.

From meaningful heirloom jewellery to vibrant, painterly florals and a magical rain-kissed ceremony, every detail of their day was a reflection of who they are as a couple. Read the full story for an inside look at their unforgettable Lake Como wedding.

How They Met

Kinjal and Herit met on Bumble by chance and timing. While visiting his sister in Philadelphia, Herit appeared in Kinjal’s 99-mile dating radius for just a day before she reset it back to 25 miles. Within that window, they matched.

Their first date involved pizza and gelato, followed by a planned NYC outing, both proposed by Herit. Their relationship blossomed over long-distance calls and bi-monthly vacations across the U.S. and Europe, maintaining a nearly 3-year-long long-distance relationship between Enola, PA and Paramus, NJ.

Wedding Planning

Kinjal chose not to hire a planner to retain full creative control and add a deeply personal touch to every element. She built direct relationships with vendors, resulting in friendships rather than just professional transactions. Her passion for hosting, planning trips, and curating experiences made the wedding journey both fulfilling and liberating.

The couple wanted an extremely intimate celebration with just nine guests in total, including themselves. From Herit’s side, his mother, father, and sister were present, while Kinjal was joined by her mother, father, brother, and grandmother.

Wedding Venue

Kinjal first saw Villa Balbiano during a family trip to Lake Como in 2021, before she had even met Herit. Her mother jokingly said she’d marry there one day. Five years later, that vision came true. The couple also visited Como together during their first international trip, staying at Villa Passalacqua, where Herit promised to marry her there someday, turning a shared dream into reality.

Wedding Decor

Kinjal opted for bold, exotic florals in vibrant colors, choosing personality over trends. She wanted the decor to resemble a painting, especially with the majestic Lake Como and mountain backdrop. The choice of vibrant hues reflected the couple’s character, resisting the popular pastel/white aesthetic in favor of something more personal and joyful.

Wedding Outfits

Kinjal stayed true to her personal style, choosing timeless elegance over trends. She worked closely with Rohan at Tarun Tahiliani’s Mumbai atelier, ultimately selecting a Rani pink saree, her favorite color and the same shade worn by her mother at her own wedding. The saree made her feel confident, elegant, and completely herself.
Her reception look was a muted gold-beige ensemble that beautifully contrasted the Lake Como backdrop. Both she and Herit aimed to embody timeless love through their fashion choices.

Wedding Jewelry

Kinjal travelled across cities in India in January 2025 to custom-design jewellery for each outfit. She focused on gold-based pieces to honour Gujarati cultural traditions and create heirlooms for future generations. A special custom set for the wedding was created with Vinay Gupta of Shri Paramani Jewels in Delhi. Reception jewellery was designed with Shobha Shringar in Mumbai. She made a second trip in April to collect the finished pieces.
Moreover, Kinjal wore her great-grandmother’s 22k gold patli bangles, which were also worn by her mother and grandmother at their weddings, symbolising continuity, blessings, and good fortune passed down through generations.

Magical Wedding Moment

It began to drizzle just as the groom arrived at the mandap and intensified as Kinjal walked down the aisle. Despite weather concerns leading up to the day, she embraced the moment fully, letting go of stress. As soon as the varmala ceremony concluded, the rain miraculously stopped and the sun peeked through the dusky skies, an unforgettable and symbolic moment of blessings and calm.

Kinjal and Herit’s Lake Como wedding was more than a celebration—it was a testament to love, intention, and family heritage. From deeply personal jewellery pieces passed through generations to bold, art-inspired décor and an intimate guest list, every detail reflected their journey and values. Their rain-kissed ceremony under the Italian skies served as a beautiful reminder that love thrives through both life’s unpredictability and its most magical moments.
